I was fortunate to be able to co-present our findings with respect to learner participants at the Northern Health Research Conference and look forward to the upcoming SACME conference to highlight the faculty results.

Mackenzie has been passionate about social justice, equity and mindfulness for several decades and looks forward to bringing them together in her research work with MSC North. As a medical student, it has become clear that the importance of wellness and self-compassion cannot be overstated, especially regarding the health of both healthcare providers and patients. Sarah graduated from NOSM University's MD program in 2023. She was the first NOSM student to be involved in the Mindful Self-Compassion research team and was involved in all four years of her education at NOSM University. Sarah participated in multiple conference presentations with the MSC team, including the Canadian Conference on Medical Education (2022), Northern Health Research Conference (2021, 2022), and Northern Constellations (2021), and contributed to written publications. In addition to her work on the research team, she was heavily involved in leadership on NOSM University's Learner Wellness Committee. Her commitment to medical student wellness earned her the PARO Citizen Award for Medical Students in 2023. Sarah is now pursuing her residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Western University.

This is an ongoing program with the goal of creating online mindful self-compassion modules that can be made available to healthcare providers. In creating short online modules, our goal was to increase the availability, accessibility, and efficiency of mindful self-compassion practice. The practical use of these modules would be to provide concise self-compassion teachings and strategies that could be used regularly by busy clinicians.
